David Kaminski is the creative force behind Forever Strange, an alt-rock project based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2005, the band released a self-titled debut album, featuring eight tracks recorded in drummer Bill Brown’s basement with Mike Hess’s Fostex multitrack hard disk recorder. Mixed using freeware N-Track and professionally mastered by Marshall Deasy for $200, the album captures the raw, authentic energy of Kaminski and Hess’s early songwriting.
Following the album’s release, Forever Strange underwent multiple lineup changes over the years, with musicians like Dave Gary, Robert Zeigler, Steve Matthes, Mike Haverstick, and Derek Ferrar. From 2005 to 2015, Forever Strange played regularly Harrisburg’s music scene, performing primarily cover music at local bars, with members connecting through local band networks and online collaborations.
In 2023, Kaminski continued releasing under Forever Strange as a solo project, focusing on original alt-rock songs that explore themes of gratitude, attitude, and confusion. He released six songs in 2023, six in 2024, three in 2025, and they keep coming, each track showcasing his introspective and authentic style. Kaminski hones his performance skills with solo acoustic gigs as Dave Kaminski, Acoustic Rock. When not performing, he writes music outdoors, often with his beloved chicken, Talula, on his shoulder, and records in his attic studio. Forever Strange reflects Kaminski’s enduring passion for music, blending raw energy with heartfelt storytelling about gratitude, attitude, and songs of confusion.
